Access to copyrighted work for people who are visually impaired

IFLA (the international library association) supports better access to copyrighted material for people who are visually impaired and people with print disabilities.
Along with other key organisations and individual advocates, IFLA urges the WIPO member states to agree on an effective treaty. The Diplomatic Conference commences today in Marrakesh.

Copyright & the Digital Economy

The Copyright & the Digital Economy discussion paper is now available from the ALRC’s (Australian Law Reform Commission) website


It contains information about the findings to date of the Commission, as well as details about proposals for law reform – in particular of the Copyright Act, and the notion of "fair use" of copyright material.

Public submissions are invited.

Library & Information Week coincides with National Cyber Security Awareness Week.
Yesterday (20/05/2013) Project 13 was launched.

Project 13 aims to help keep children safe online, and is an initiative of Australian library associations, government, philanthropic and corporate partners.
